Eh, art is whatever you say it is, in this day and age. There's no "x is more artistic than y because x is this whereas y is that" in my book. There is only good art and bad art, and that opinion is always biased. And in my biased opinion, your work is great.

Don't get offended. If they had any good crit you found helpful, use it. If they didn't sound like they knew what they were talking about and/or were flaming, ignore it. Just keep moving forward.

Im not talking about your work here at all, so don't take it into account that im critting u or even referring in the slightest. But in my eyes, the best crits come from anyone with 2 eyes. Anyone. It doesn't matter if they can do what you do or not. Thats not the issue. When it comes to art, our audience, a lot of the time, is non artists. If a regular person looks at your work and cant figure it out, and its intended to be something clear, you have failed. Not because they suck as an artist, but because you didn't do your job as the creator.

Obviously it depends on how its said. Like, some people just want to be dickheads, and others say it in a harsh way, but mean it because they're serious. Regardless of that, every crit should be taken into account, because there may be a way for you to improve upon your work the next time.

A lot of fan boys and girl will sit here and tell you how amazing u are and they your work is like gods gift to man, but I wont, because, although i DO think you're good. I know you have a LONG journey ahead of you, and with all these little shitty comments from people, you're going to grow. Crits sting, thats just how it is. But use it. If someone tell you "your stuff is still and a little boring" Theres probably a chance that your stuff isn't showing off the movement that you were going for, so either go back and pump it up, or make sure you keep it in mind the next time.

Anyways. I wrote more than your journal...holy crap....

Bottom line. Don't be offended, but take what they said, and seriously think about it, because it may help push you to another level with your work

Yeah I think so too. Thanks Howl, that pretty neat comments which I'm looking for. It's hard to discern everyone feeling sometime and and then we bust into action which is to far. Not me alone, mostly others as well. We forget the audience sometime at least this guy is sincere of what his thinking . It's a reprimand for me none the less and failing is learning curve. Yep, you got it mate. Theres always one. And sometimes they don't even catch that they're being harsh. They just tell it how they see it. Where as some people just accept what is. And yes, I'll glad to see you say "failing is learning curve". Thats exactly what it is. And if you look at it like that, then you haven't failed at all. You've morphed it into something good, that pushes you that extra step the next time .
